Is your life or the life of a loved one affected by drugs or alcohol?

Helping to give an improved and enriched lifestyle.

Are you seeking to find the help and support you need to build a new drug and alcohol free lifestyle?

Then, you have come to the right place.

At Pathways House, we pride ourselves in offering a practical solution, which helps in achieving total abstinence.

Our treatment can also enable people to reunite with their families, pursue the career they have always wanted and find a new way to live. You no longer need to be living with the destructive force of your addiction or the addiction of somebody you love. There is a solution and we can help you get on the road to recovery.

Who are we?

The Pathways House Project is a quasi-residential addiction treatment centre. We welcome people from all backgrounds and help them find a new way to live and deal with their addictions. We can accommodate people with drug, alcohol, food or gambling addictions.

We run a complete and intensive programme from initial assessment and detox to various therapies.

The therapy is delivered through cognitive therapy and through the 12 step fellowship programmes. We suggest that you spend between 4 and 12 weeks at Pathways House; we believe that clients need this time to fully adjust to life without substances and to reintegrate back in to society.

We are EATA (European Association of the Treatment of Addiction) and FDAP (Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals) registered and we pride ourselves in providing professional and high quality service at affordable cost.

What makes Pathways House special?

  • Quasi-residential - This revolutionary structure in the field of addiction treatments resembles a natural residential environment and has great benefits to those who wish to recover from addiction. By conducting the therapies in a separate venue than the housing accommodation, we give the clients the opportunity to live in a home-like environment. After attending treatment sessions during the day at a separate site, the clients are then taken back to the house, where they can rest and begin to incorporate their newly learned tools in their ordinary living.

This makes the rehabilitation process less isolating and stressful to the client. Therefore after finishing the treatment, the clients can return to their own home and practice the newly learned skills and tools. Their life after the treatment becomes a continuation of the treatment itself, rather than a return from a temporary journey. This is why this type of treatment proves to be more successful than ordinary full residential rehabilitation centres.

  • Personalised Treatment - We value and understand that our clients have unique needs and we therefore work towards meeting them. Our systematic personalised approach is designed to satisfy those necessities and to motivate each individual client to achieve and maintain their abstinence. Our highly qualified therapists have many years of experience and are able to challenge the roots of the addictive behaviour and therefore assist significantly in the recovery process.

  • 12 Step Treatment - We recognise the contribution made by the 12 step fellowships and incorporate their system in our treatment program. We have found this to be an efficient and successful method for treating addiction. Our clients are encouraged to attend 12 step fellowships as a part of their recovery process.

  • Holistic Approach - We believe that creating a suitable, serene atmosphere enables the clients to recover more successfully and sustain their abstinence. Therefore we incorporate holistic therapies such as Massages and Aromatherapy as part of our program. The clients have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of leisure activities including gardening, cinema trips, sports, nature and woodland walks, etc...

What are the goals of our treatment?

  • Abstinence from addictive behaviours.

  • An improved and enriched lifestyle.

  • To help the client recognise the problem of addiction and its implications.

  • To help the client admit they need help and then realise that they will be able to cope with their problem.

  • To help the client identify specific areas they will need to change in order to live a constructive life despite their addiction.

  • To help the client translate the understanding into action.

Alcohol abuse and drug abuse is a growing problem within our society, therefore our main aim is to treat our clients to tackle their problems and then become productive members of their families, friends and community.

We are not a conventional rehab; within our residential atmosphere we encourage clients to regain a more balanced and enjoyable standard of life without alcoholism, drug addiction or any other addictive behaviours that are continuing to destruct their lives.

On completion of our in-house program our aftercare treatment can begin, as the early stages of recovery are crucial to our client's welfare and we can provide on-going support. All packages are addiction focused treatments specific to each client's unique needs for their rehabilitation.

Our residence is based in Canterbury, Kent in the heart of the famous ‘Garden of England’.

Client Testimonials

"I came into contact with Pathways House at a critical time for my daughter whose health had deteriorated to the very depths of despair. With additional good fortune there was an immediate vacancy at Pathways house and so she was admitted. This was not the first time she had been in recovery over many years, all of which, quite obviously had not worked. Kenny Milne, over the first few days, immediately created an air of confidence that with his programmes and considerable experience, that led me to believe his success rate was such that I would have my daughter back again. With his help and guidance together with his excellent staff, in particular Justina and Sian, she adopted his programmes and bonded with others to the point that even she admitted that she had learnt more here than anywhere else in such a short time. I am sure that in part such a small establishment with personal involvement played a large part in achieving a high success rate. I, as a father, know only too well that these last few weeks are "relatively easy"; the hard part is yet to come. I am more confident than ever before that the Pathways' programme has given her the best chance yet to enjoy prolonged and enjoyable recovery. I am eternally grateful."
